COACHES NEEDED As you know, coaches at the YMCA are volunteers from our community who dedicate their time and efforts to make a meaningful impact in our children's lives. A volunteer could be you as a parent/guardian or a community member you know of. Sometimes they are parents or family members, and sometimes members of the community that want to be part of the Y movement. Currently, we are in dire need of coaches and your help is much appreciated. All volunteer applicants must be Level 2 Background screened, including fingerprinting, and complete the required training to ensure the safety of our participants, so do not hesitate to volunteer as soon as possible. A volunteer coach will be needed in order for a team to participate in league play by the end of week 1. Join us for the 4th Annual Community Health Care Fair, hosted in partnership with Eglise Verite Et Vie, on October 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This community event will connect individuals and families with valuable health care resources, wellness information, and onsite mammogram screenings. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about available health services, connect with community resources, and take proactive steps toward improving their overall health and well-being. Volunteers will play an important role in helping create a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for all attendees. Volunteer responsibilities will include assisting with event setup and breakdown, welcoming and checking in guests, directing attendees to various areas and resources, answering general questions, and providing general event support throughout the day. Volunteers may also assist with keeping the event organized and ensuring attendees know where to go for screenings, resources, and other services. This is a great opportunity to support the community, promote health and wellness, and help individuals and families access important resources. Your time and assistance will help ensure the event runs smoothly and that every guest feels welcomed and supported. We appreciate our volunteers for helping make this meaningful community event a success!

The Senior Expo at the South Orlando YMCA is a welcoming community event designed to connect older adults, caregivers, families, and community members with valuable health, wellness, educational, and support resources. In partnership with Global Alzheimer's and Charter Research, the event will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about local services, explore wellness resources, connect with community organizations, and discover programs that can support healthy aging and overall well-being. Volunteers will play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized experience for all attendees. Responsibilities may include assisting with event setup and breakdown, welcoming and checking in guests, providing directions and information, helping attendees navigate the event space, supporting community partners and vendors, and assisting with general event needs throughout the day. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to engage with the community, support older adults and their families, and help create a positive and informative event that promotes connection, wellness, and access to important community resources. This event will take place on October 14th, 2026 at the South Orlando YMCA from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
