COACHES NEEDED As you know, coaches at the YMCA are volunteers from our community who dedicate their time and efforts to make a meaningful impact in our children's lives. A volunteer could be you as a parent/guardian or a community member you know of. Sometimes they are parents or family members, and sometimes members of the community that want to be part of the Y movement. Currently, we are in dire need of coaches and your help is much appreciated. All volunteer applicants must be Level 2 Background screened, including fingerprinting, and complete the required training to ensure the safety of our participants, so do not hesitate to volunteer as soon as possible. A volunteer coach will be needed in order for a team to participate in league play by the end of week 1. COACHES NEEDED YMCA Esports Coaches are community volunteers who help guide youth participants through competitive and recreational gaming experiences. Whether you're a parent, guardian, or community member passionate about gaming and youth development, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact. Responsibilities Lead weekly Wednesday practices (6–7 PM) and Friday games/tournaments (6–7 PM) Teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and game strategy in a fun and inclusive environment Communicate with players and families about schedules and expectations Ensure a safe and respectful gaming space for all participants Collaborate with YMCA staff to support league operations Season Schedule Winter (Jan 5 – Feb 21): Mario Kart Spring (Mar 1 – May 2): Rocket League Summer (May 25 – Jul 17): NBA 2K Fall 1 (Aug 10 – Oct 2): Super Smash Bros. Each session includes a fun warm-up, foundational strength training, balance and coordination games, and playful cardio activities— all focused on proper form, joint safety, and teamwork.
